The clocks
coughed, scattering
Time over the earth.
The clocks
had colds,
These clocks who scattered
The time
they did not possess
Over the earth.
The clocks
had fevers,
But the fevers did not heat
The fives
on the clock's faces,
The fives were cold, straight and curved.
These
fives had no fevers, but spread
As a virus five o'clock over the earth.
